Toots & Hoots
Our new cocktail bar, Toots n Hoots, tucked above our restaurant on Russell Street. A playful hidden drinking den, the bar takes inspiration from New York’s Decoy, also created by Ed Schoenfeld, with a darkly atmospheric design, dominated by two photographic works by Claire Rosen depicting a pair of owls; the eponymous ‘Toots n Hoots’.
Rewards for finding the clandestine space will be a host of cocktails from the Toots n Hoots list, including; The Long Stare with gin, bergamont, luxardo, vermouth and rose, Tu Whit Tu Whoo, a blend of dark rum, olea Saccharum, vanilla, Kaffir lime leaf and smoked star anise, and the Master of the Night, a concoction of mezcal, vermouth, coffee infused cynar and Campari. Shawn has also devised an alcohol free cocktail in the from of the Little Owl, with Seedlip botanicals, cucumber, thyme and lime, and a selection of craft beers and carefully chosen wines by the glass will also be on offer.
Perfect to accompany a drink or two, our menu of supercharged snacks and creative Chinese dishes will be available to Toots n Hoots inhibitors, from West Mersea rock oysters with yuzu ice to Sezchuan cumin lamb skewers and BBQ’d baby back pork ribs.
Not only perfect for drinks with friends, Toots n Hoots will also be available for private hire to larger parties.
